Supplying of urgently needed medicine to tsunami
affected areas We are currently raising funds
to send urgently needed medicines to Sri Lanka to help prevent any
unnecessary deaths by a disease outbreak in the tsunami
affected regions. Through a project organized by a prominent medical researcher
in USA we have made arrangements to send a shipment of medicines
purchased at a very discounted price, directly from an
Indian pharmaceutical company to the affected area hospitals.
These medicines are requested by the area hospital managements
through the Director General of Health in the country, who is a past
colleague/student of the researcher. The first shipment of this
project, worth around $100,000, purchased with $15,000 raised by
another organization, has already been delivered on December 29,
2004 to the Galle Hospital in the worst affected southern region of
the island. The air-freight was paid by the pharmaceutical company.
Please help in this cause. Your donation will save
lives.

Reconstruct and furnish a tsunami
damaged school With
parents, friends, schools and their hopes wiped away by the
tsunami, the children are the most vulnerable to have their future
destroyed by the aftereffects of the disaster. Returning to normalcy
soon is the best cure for these kids to get back their sense of
securiy. Schools play a very big role there. But almost all
the schools in the affected areas are in a very desperate
state. It is a gigantic effort for any one institution to take care
of all the current needs of those schools. It is time to do our
part. With your help, we can reconstruct/repair and re-furnish a few
schools. It will give these kids the opportunity, which
was unfairly taken away, to be back on track to become useful
citizens.
We have earmarked a school damaged by the tsunami in
southern Sri Lanka to reconstruct/repair and furnish. The building
needs a little repair. The classrooms and the offices need the
desks, chairs and the other furniture. Our volunteers in Sri Lanka
are currently finalizing the details of the project with the school
principal and the government agent of the area. We will
publish the details very soon. We plan to start the
reconstruction within a few weeks. Please help, these kids deserve their lives
back.
